
Mr John Chadwick (BDS U. Birm., FDS RCS ED., D.Orth.
RCS Eng.)
Qualifying in 1975 from the University of Birmingham, Mr Chadwick
has 17 years of experience as a Consultant Orthodontist and is
in fact the only one in private practice in Shropshire. Mr Chadwick
is listed with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in
Orthodontics and is well known to general dental practitioners
in Shropshire and throughout the UK, having trained many of them
in the area of basic orthodontic techniques.
Mr Chadwick has
held Consultant posts in the Birmingham Children’s
Hospital, Corbett Hospital Stourbridge, Dudley Hospital NHS Trust
and Shrewsbury Hospitals NHS Trust, as well as The Royal Shrewsbury
Hospital and for the Regional Cleft Service. He has been Lead
Clinician for Dental Specialists and trainer for Specialist Registrars
and a mentor for their management training. As well as routine
orthodontics, Mr Chadwick has a special interest in orthodontic
care of children and adults with cleft lip and palate problems.
In addition he has a wealth of experience in the management of
sleep apnoea and snoring using intra-oral appliances.
As a member
of the Consultant Orthodontists Group of the British Orthodontic
Society and Chairman of the Local Orthodontic Committee,
Mr Chadwick takes his clinical responsibilities very seriously
and is committed to continuous professional development, keeping
up to date with current orthodontic practice and techniques
using a range of the best appliance systems.
Mr Chadwick prides himself
on the friendliness of his team and ensures the patient receives
a full explanation of treatment
in terms the layperson can understand. He is able to use aesthetic
appliances such as Invisalign where adults particularly have
appearance concerns regarding the wearing of braces. Mr Chadwick
has many satisfied patients from his hospital and private work
and it is always his top priority to achieve the best result
for each patient, even if this means recommending another form
of treatment. Mr Chadwick is able to refer to other specialists
for further opinions or treatment when required including in-house
for multi-disciplinary procedures for complex cases.
