Wendy Hartwig (RN NIP) - Laser & Aesthetic Nurse

Qualified in 1993 as a Registered Nurse after studying for 3 years at the North Staffordshire College of Nursing (affiliated to the University of Keele) where she was awarded her Diploma in Nursing Studies (Adult Branch). Wendy went on to gain 3 years post qualification experience in one of the countries leading rheumatology units at Shropshire's Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry. During this time Wendy completed a 6 month specialist nurse training in Orthopaedics. This experience enabled Wendy to take up a Senior Staff Nurse post at Birmingham's Royal Orthopaedic Hospital for 3 years.

Wendy also has managerial experience from her time with a recruitment agency, providing temporary and permanent staffing solutions to the NHS and private sector. Following this period and keen to get back to working with patients again, Wendy joined the Boots Company and completed a BTEC in Laser and Intense Light Hair Removal, which is the highest recognised qualification in the UK for this procedure. Wendy worked as a Laser Hair Removal Nurse with Boots until their closure in Dec 2004. Fortunately for us, Wendy then joined The Dental Spa in Shrewsbury as an aesthetic & laser nurse practitioner providing hair removal where patients can benefit from her excellent clinical skills and her easy manner which puts patients at their ease, in what can initially be an embarrassing situation for patients. Wendy's absolute professionalism ensures this is soon eliminated and isn't an obstacle allowing them to benefit from the marvels of laser hair removal. In addition to laser skills, Wendy is a font of knowledge when it comes to providing Medical Microdermabrasion and Skin Peels as well as advising on home Skin Care regimes for each individuals own special requirements.

In 2011 Wendy successfully completed the Supplementary and Independent Nurse Prescribers course at De Montford University in Leicester. Botox is a prescription only medicine and becoming a nurse prescriber and completing courses in the use of Botulinum Toxin and dermal fillers in facial aesthetics has enabled Wendy to expand her role here to include the administration of wrinkle relaxing injections and dermal fillers"

Excess hair growth, whether in an area hair is expected to grow or in an area not usually associated with hair growth dominates lives of men and women alike.
